Yeah Howard is probably the worst of the Everton regulars in the last 50 years+

@@michaelh878 That is not true, he is better than the keepers from 1972 to 1980 then from 1998 till 2016. I'd say he's third best in the last 50 years. 1st Southall (1981-98) 2nd Pickford (not of late though) (2017-now) 3rd Howard (2006-16) I think 3rd place out of around 28 starting goalkeepers since 1972 is pretty good.

@@dioandgomezthenavyburglars5596 I wasn't alive in the 70s but I'd be surprised if he was better than Dai Davies (50+ caps for Wales) and even George Wood was very highly regarded. Nigel Martyn was also much better than him. Also not sure where you came up with 27 starting goalkeepers. There's been closer to 10. Of the modern goalkeepers he was definitely better than Wright, Simonsen and Gerrard. Myrhe I'm not convinced about. Howard was really bad. Most seasons he was 15th and worse in terms of save percentage.

I'm a United fan, so I've never liked Everton. But I'm an American, so I've always loved Timmy. So happy he was so loved and respected there, because he's a legend!

In the 70s at Goodison I saw Gordon West make a great save from a point blank header from a great player called Derek Doogan. It was one of those moments that stick in the memory.

I remember as a kid this was such a recognizable famous save in the prem, because the clip was everywhere. Pretty sure I watched it live but I may have only seen the highlights of Everton vs Southampton through MOTD

That is standard procedure, one for the cameras. Schmeichel and Reina have performed the best 2 saves in modern era and I'm a Leeds fan

No! Wolves Vs Everton this season. Jose Sa was bent over, going down to the floor and somehow was able to lift his body back up, and was able to put the ball, at fingertip stretch, over the crossbar!! That was a save of the season!
