A five-goal thriller settled in injury time! Tim Cahill was Everton's hero as they finally got past a stubborn Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. Mikel Arteta's penalty put the Toffees ahead before Steven Nzonzi smashed in from 30 yards. Everton regained the lead when substitute Yakubu nodded in with his first touch and Jason Roberts restored parity with a 25-yard drive before Cahill tapped in Yakubu's low cross to snatch victory. I miss the trip to Ewood Park, it was always one of our nearer away games and a good away following behind the goal made a great day out

And the following year we went down there, they missed two pens, we get one right at the death, and we nick it 0-1! I also believe that was the game Moyes decided he wasn't fond of Barkley...

Great goalscorer, I was a huge fan. Dont think he was ever quite the same after the achillies injury though.

@@sukhdevr3489 I was raging when we sold him and had no strikers, Saha stinking the gaff out every week whilst Yakubu was slotting constantly for Blackburn, mistake by moyes that

@@dogsbollocksgenius9480 Yep. I really liked Yakubu and Saha, but both were injured so much. I think Yakubu was probably better at his best because he was much bigger and stronger but Saha was better technically. Remember West Ham away when he got 2 goals and an assist all with his weak foot?

@@sukhdevr3489 both were very good when they were fit, Yakubus first season he was great but then his two seasons after he was a bit of a pudding. Saha when he was fully fit was a force, had everything, normally left footed players have no right foot but he could smash a belter in with either foot, quick, decent in the air. They could’ve been a great partnership if they’d stayed fit. The team around 07-09 was really good tbf, just needed a pacey right winger to really trouble the top 4, should’ve spent the Billy money on someone with pace, Kanchelskis for eg would’ve turned that team into a force
